Lost keys to your motorbike?
Have you lost keys to your motorbike? We can come on site to make a key for you, even if your bike is fitted with a factory immobiliser. If you are too far away for us to come to you we can let you know what parts we need from the bike to get it going again.
Most 600cc and larger bikes from 2004 on are fitted with a factory immobiliser system which help prevent your bike from being stolen. The most common reason that we have found that our customers don’t have a spare key is because they bought it second hand and it only came with one. With most of the bikes on the market when all the keys are lost the dealers only option is to replace the lockset, ECU and key reader which can cost well over $3,000. If you only have one key we highly recommend to get a spare which can save you thousands of dollars. Most bikes we are able to supply, cut and program a spare for around $160, giving you the peace of mind from having a spare.
Yamaha motorbikes use Y.I.S.S ( Yamaha Ignition Security System) which uses a red learning key to program new keys to the bike, if this key is no longer available you are no longer able to add keys to the bike or delete missing or stolen keys, it is possible though to clone an existing key. If all keys are lost we can still make keys to these bikes and for a fraction of the cost of the dealer.
Honda motorbikes use H.I.S.S ( Honda Ignition Security System). Unlike the Yamaha system that use a learning key all you need is an existing programmed key to add more, however this does have to be done diagnostically. If you have lost all your keys we can still cut and program keys to your bike.
