Are your keys worn, having issues with your locks?

When keys stop working properly what most people do is go and get a new key cut, but a lot of the time the “new” key is just a copy of your worn key. A lot of key cutters also don’t calibrate their machines regularly or properly which means that you likely won’t get an exact copy of your key.

Think of this like a photocopy of a photocopy, each time you make a copy you lose some of the quality of what you are making a copy of, it is the exact same thing with keys. Add to that, poorly calibrated key duplicating machines.

We cut our car keys to code, meaning that we decode the cuts on your existing worn key and cut them back to factory specifications. This helps your locks work smoother and prolong their life as when you continue to use worn keys the lock wears out faster which can lead to expensive repairs and replacements.

If you look at the images below the bottom key was the “new” key my customer had cut as his locks were not working properly, he would have to jiggle the key in the lock to get it to click over and turn. Now compare this to the code cut key and you can see that there is a difference. After cutting a new key the locks worked smoothly and there was no more standing at the door lock jiggling away until it decided to open.

You will pay a bit more for a properly cut key but you do get a better product that will last a lot longer.
